How can i start getting paid as a director?

That really depends on what sort of directing you’re wanting to do. If it’s commercials you need to start showing your work to production companies in order to get on their roster in order to get commercials work. Films… that’s a tough one. I would imagine that the first features you’ll be directing will be produced by yourself. It’s then up to you to take a fee (if you’re lucky enough to even have a budget!). You could start producing and directing low budget music videos for local bands etc for another source of income… it’s a difficult question to answer without knowing your background. Good luck!
