Releasing BEING SOLD. Watch the launch, live!

June 19th. 4.15pm. That’s the date and time Being Sold will finally be released to the world! Why so specific? I’ll be talking on a panel at the Edinburgh Film Festival discussing the future of distribution. Being Sold is a great example of the future of how independent film makers can reach audiences and make money from their films. Using the innovative distribution platform Distrify we’ve been able to release our one hour documentary ‘How did they shoot a feature film in two days?’ this week (thanks to all who’ve bought it so far!) and on Sunday we’ll be able to release the film.

At around 4.30, I’ll be pressing the button during the talk and you’ll be able to watch the film (in SD and HD) from our website. If you’re at EIFF, come along to the discussion “Selling Films Socially - A Revolution in Film Distribution” Other panelists include Chris Jones (filmmmaker, author of the ‘Guerilla Filmmaker’s Handbook), Arjun Chatterji (Imaginox) and Peter Gerard (Distrify).

If you’re not an EIFF… don’t despair! We’re going to be streaming the event live from our new Being Sold Live section of the website. You’ll be able to see the talk, chat to other fans and filmmakers in the chat room and be a part of this ‘revolution in film distribution’. The aim is to get as many people to buy the film during the first hour. We’ll be announcing the results at the end of the talk… so please help us!

Join us from about 4.15 on the site. Myself and the producers will be randomly going live at various points over the weekend so keep an eye on our twitter and we’ll let you know.

BEING SOLD / LONDON INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL / WIDGET The film will be screening at LIFF2011 on Friday 22nd April, 9pm. We’re screening at the Shortwave Cinema. It’s a great cinema but has very limited seats so get your tickets ASAP from here. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with myself and some of the cast. I’ll confirm who’ll be attending soon. We now have a Being Sold widget! What’s that? Well, it’s a clever little video window which you can share on your blog, Twitter, Facebook etc which will keep you up to date with all of the festival screenings and - in June - you’ll be able to watch the film straight from this window and even order a Blu-Ray or DVD.
