Sony PSP | Invizimals The Lost Tribes I’m very happy I can finally ad this to the reel! Here’s the ad currently running in Europe for Invizimals: The Lost Tribes. This was a great shoot which turned a British garden into a jungle and created an arctic snowstorm in a basement! Shot on RED by Michael Costelloe. Production: MCTV. Agency: Love Creative.

Some recent work… Cadbury World commercial.

Ye Cart Shop is now live. I directed 5 medieval comedy commercials and a series of internet virals for the re-brand of The Car Shop. This is the first in the series involving a Damsel in Distress (Jessica Blake - you may recognise her from a certain movie…) looking for the perfect cart assisted by the very funny Chris Hannon (from BBC’s sitcom LUNCH MONKEYS). Watch it YouTube to see it in full HD glory. The rest of the campaign involves a saucy Lady and Lord, a welsh Robin Hood, a sleezy Knight and a Sale which turns into a bit of a riot. They’ll all be released over the next year. Watch out for them on TV (UK viewers only).

Check out the brilliant Cart Shop website which goes with the campaign and the hilarious virals on the YouTube site which were all wonderfully improvised by the very talented cast.

All of the commercials were shot on Red in the new 4.5k 2.35:1 format (lovely) on a custom made cinematic lens. There were shot over 5 days on location in South Wales. We had a blast shooting them. I hope you enjoy it… I can’t wait to show you the rest!

“Winner” video released Here’s the music video I directed for Kid British’s new track “Winner”. The video features cameos from the likes of the legend Sir Geoff Hurst, Nedem Onuoha, Clint Boon, Gareth Brooks and more. It was shot in one day on Red at South Manchester Studios and was produced by my music video company BoxBot with Modern English film. Thanks again to our very hard working crew. It was a long, but enjoyable, day! The track is the title tune for Fifa’s World Cup game (spot the product placement!) so it should be getting a lot of exposure. The video has already been playlisted by major music video channels which is a great achievement and will hopefully bring the band success. Good luck boys, you deserve it. Watch on YouTube above. Go on, watch the 1080p version to see it in it’s full glory…

Here’s the launch film I directed, cut and graded for the all new Vauxhall Astra produced by Square Zero and for agency TRO.

It was shot on RED over two days on location in and around London. I’m used to having a few hours and a digibeta shooting cars for Fifth Gear so having a few days (even though that was a tight schedule), shooting with prime lenses and getting some great footage around London on a crane attached to a tracking vehicle was a nice luxury. We caused a few traffic jams shooting it but, hey, Londoners are used to a bit of traffic!

This is the director’s cut. It’s pretty similar to the main cut except I’ve cut a few sequences which made this an interactive film. It was designed so users could upload a photograph to a website and become a part of the film.

Alongside this film, I shot a four-minute-one-shot stunt sequence on a 360 degree camera to create a ‘virtual test drive’ where users could wear a set of goggles and become the point-of-view of a stunt driver on a movie set. It was a head scratcher to figure out but a great challenge. This ‘test drive’ is currently touring the UK so if you see an Astra in a shopping centre go and check it out… you’ll even see me acting!
